Invitations & Wedding rings!

Hi folks! I’m sorry, it’s been awhile since my last post but I swear I’m still here and planning away. Nothing crazy has been going on, but we have been hashing away at a couple of things. One big thing that we managed to get out of the way are the wedding invitations. They now have been stuffed and sealed, and are just awaiting to be stamped and mailed off.  I’m happy to get this out of the way, but I’m especially eager to see the RSVPs (not RRSPs as I have let slipped a couple of times- hello tax season) and to see who is/isn’t attending.  We ended up opting to use an online RSVP website called Rsvpify. It’s a really easy and quick website that tracks and manages your RSVPS, and when you’re ready you can easily export the guest list into an excel sheet- easy peasy! For those who aren’t computer savvy, then we will simply telephonically follow-up. Let the fun begin!

In other news, we both have started looking at wedding rings. I know what I want, and I don’t think it will take very long to find something. The only foreseen challenge is finding something that fits our budget, but nonetheless I’m open to anything. Stew on the other hand is proving to be a bit more challenging. First off, he didn’t want to wear a wedding ring- his father and his grandfather both didn’t wear wedding rings, therefore he doesn’t want to. To me it’s important, and he agreed to at least come with me to check out some wedding rings. He tried on a couple of styles- simple gold bands- nothing fancy, but he didn’t like them. I started researching different styles of men’s wedding rings, and one website suggested having an existing ring resized or redone to make it into more of a wedding band. That got me a thinking- Stew frequently wears one of his grandfather’s Russian wedding rings (3 intertwined bands of gold) on his pinky finger and I suggested getting it resized to fit  his ring finger.

Thank god, Stew loved the idea!! The ring will now have double the sentimental value, plus it will look really nice. We both researched jewellers in the area who could resize the ring, and we found a place that can easily do it, plus the cost will be equivalent to that of a brand new ring. Success! Now we just need to go shopping for my ring!

That’s all for now- thank you for the support! I can’ t believe how fast the past few months have flown by. Before I know it, I’ll be hearing wedding bells!

130 days!
